Hello Julia, In an atom there are three types of elements: electrons that are the negative, the protons that are the positive and finally the neutrons. Electrons move from one atom to another and this creates electricity. When two materials rub together the electrons pass between the materials and creates a type of electricity called static electricity. Do you now that in the 18th Benjamin Franklin did an experiment with a key and a kite string in a storm? HE GOT AN ELECTRIC SHOCK BUT SURVIVED!!!! He found that electricity can be controlled. In 20th Thomas Edison invented the light bulb that could produced light for a long time, he built the first Power Station that gave electricity to the houses.
